Practical Skills

There are many opportunities for participants to engage in activities which will help to develop practical, transferable skills. We can teach people how to grow their own food, look after animals, and how to tend the livestock and be attentive to their needs. This develops observation skills and a sense of connection to nature. For those who wish to develop their DIY skills, we can offer tractor maintenance, such as daily checks and top ups for oil and fluid levels, checking over linkages, tyre pressures and making sure everything is working efficiently and safely. There are also opportunities to repair gates, fences and farm structures and all sorts of other maintenance and construction tasks that are part and parcel of the day to day running a family farm.
